macOS won’t open my GitHub download
Open the app once, then check System Settings → Privacy & Security for an Open Anyway option. Only proceed for a build you downloaded from our GitHub Releases. See the installation guide.
Why do I need to choose my folder on a new Mac?
Folder access permission is local to each Mac. Choose your existing notes folder again in Settings. If you use iCloud Drive, wait for the files to download first.
Where are my notes stored?
As .txt files in the folder you chose. RAMnotes does not upload them to a server. You can change the folder in Settings.
How do tips work?
Optional tips in the App Store build are processed by Apple. They do not unlock features.
The app is running, but I can’t see my notes
Try Control–Backslash, the default summon shortcut, or your configured scroll gesture. Check the invocation settings if you changed the shortcut.
How do I report a bug?
Tell us what you expected, what happened, and the steps to reproduce it. Include your macOS and RAMnotes versions. Please leave private note contents out of your report.
